IT Security Officer

About the role

The IT Security Officer will lead the organization’s cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring that security controls, policies, and procedures are effective and aligned with business objectives. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to protect information assets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage security vendors, deliverables, and periodic security testing.
• Assess and oversee mitigation and remediation activities for adequacy and effectiveness.
• Review security reports, policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Provide cybersecurity consultancy, respond to alerts, and handle incidents.
• Conduct security awareness training and broadcast email security advisories.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field.
• 4–7 years of experience as a cybersecurity analyst or similar role.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.

Required skills

• Network protocols, Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Cloud security concepts for AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Vulnerability scanners, penetration testing tools and SIEM platforms.
• Scripting with Python and PowerShell for automation.
• Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001 and OWASP Top 10 frameworks.
