IT Support Technician

About the role

SBM Offshore is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide prompt technical assistance to end‑users, ensuring smooth daily operations and high user satisfaction. You will work across hardware, software, and network environments, helping the company maintain its reputation for reliable, innovative offshore solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely technical support via phone, email, or in‑person for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware faults, software errors, and connectivity problems, identifying root causes.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and related peripherals.
• Apply software updates, patches, and driver installations as required.
• Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts, passwords, email settings, and security permissions.
• Maintain accurate records of support tickets, solutions, and inventory.
• Document troubleshooting procedures and user guides for future reference.
• Provide basic training on IT systems, applications, and security best practices.
• Use remote access tools to support off‑site users efficiently.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Additional technical education or certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, MCDST) preferred.
• Proficiency in English for effective communication.
• Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field is advantageous.
• Additional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or MCSA are a plus.
