Junior Product Development Engineer

About the role

Excelitas Technologies is seeking a Junior Product Development Engineer to join its Singapore site. You will support the design, development, and launch of new optical and photonic products, working closely with R&D, manufacturing, quality and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the full product development lifecycle from concept to production (NPI).
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth product transfer and process readiness.
• Design and execute experiments (DOE) to optimise product performance and process capability.
• Analyse data using statistical tools to drive improvements and support decision‑making.
• Apply Six Sigma methods (SPC, DMAIC, FMEA) to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in failure analysis, document findings and recommend solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation such as process flows, work instructions and reports.
• Provide on‑site support at manufacturing facilities, including regular travel to Batam.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience in product development, R&D or electronics manufacturing/packaging (fresh graduates are welcome).
• Strong project‑management and organisational skills.
