Junior Software Engineer (Java)

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer with a strong aptitude for programming to join our Capital Markets IT team in Singapore. You will work on the development, testing and maintenance of in‑house applications that support our global banking operations.

Key responsibilities

• Research, design and develop computer and network software or specialised utility programs.
• Analyse user needs and translate them into robust software solutions.
• Identify and resolve organisation‑wide issues, including security risks and performance bottlenecks.
• Perform initial threat modelling and ensure coding standards meet security requirements.
• Develop and maintain the software configuration management plan and oversee software releases.
• Provide guidance and technical support to quality testing teams.
• Update existing software, enhance capabilities and lead testing and validation activities.

Required profile

• Strong programming aptitude and ability to design, develop, test, debug and implement software applications.
• Capability to work on projects with a focus on security, configuration management and release processes.
• Interest in financial‑technology environments and capital‑markets applications.

Required skills

• Java programming language.
• Experience with APIs.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence concepts.
• Understanding of cloud solutions.
• Knowledge of big‑data technologies.
