Lead Android Software Engineer

About the role

Grab’s MALTA team is looking for a Lead Android Software Engineer to drive the development of core SDKs and frameworks that power all Grab mobile applications. Based in Singapore, you will work closely with product, design and engineering teams to deliver stable, scalable and secure Android solutions at high velocity.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑quality Android SDKs and reusable components.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions.
• Write comprehensive technical documentation, including code comments, architecture diagrams and guides.
• Debug and resolve complex issues using advanced tooling.
• Stay current with Android development trends and integrate best practices.
• Build common mobile architecture and methodologies across Grab’s mobile apps.
• Ensure rapid and secure delivery through CI pipelines, tooling and processes.
• Own projects from design through deployment, partnering with engineers, product managers and designers.

Required profile

• 4‑5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Track record of building and publishing multiple Android applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and deep understanding of the Android SDK.
• Experience with version control (Git) and continuous integration (Jenkins).
• Familiarity with Android design patterns and architectural principles.
