Lead Network Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering

About the role

Mastercard’s Program‑aligned Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams ensure a seamless experience for customers by maintaining the highest standards of infrastructure, security, and performance. As a Lead Network Engineer on the Payments Network SRE team, you will continuously assess and improve the service quality of diverse networking technologies, providing strategic insights on resource utilization, capacity forecasting, and performance trends to guarantee availability, scalability, and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead continuous assessments of network infrastructure supporting critical Mastercard applications, focusing on health, performance, and capacity analysis.
• Collaborate with product and development teams to forecast growth requirements and ensure scalable network designs.
• Conduct regular incident reviews with internal support teams, identify root causes, and develop remediation or mitigation strategies for recurring failures.
• Champion observability by evaluating monitoring and alerting gaps, designing and implementing unified telemetry solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading network infrastructure assessments and incident management.
• Strong background in capacity planning and performance trend analysis.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with product, development, and support teams.
