Lead Product Engineer (Robotics)

About the role

NCS, a technology services firm operating across the Asia Pacific region, is hiring a Lead Product Engineer for robotics in Singapore. You will lead software product development for robotic systems, work closely with applications developers to solve real-time challenges, and help define next-generation robotic software and hardware products and platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead software design and development for robotics platform and system solutions, integrating AI and machine learning for intelligent automation
• Develop and optimise machine learning algorithms for robotics applications
• Drive technical solution proposals with cross-functional teams and take part in end-to-end design, implementation and integration of prototypes and project deliveries
• Translate architecture and design concepts into software specifications
• Generate system architecture, software diagrams, technical specs and user guides, including SDK/API documentation
• Define and develop test cases based on system performance requirements
• Perform code reviews and follow code quality guidelines
• Take part in client meetings as technical expert and turn customer challenges into technical requirements
• Stay current with robotics, AI, computer vision and related fields

Required profile

• At least 10 years in software platform development with large-scale distributed systems
• Minimum 5 years in technical leadership roles leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
• Demonstrated experience in cloud-native architectures, microservices and API platform development
• Proven expertise in AI/ML integration, especially LLM and VLM
• Experience in robotics with cybersecurity and safety compliance; familiarity with autonomous vehicles and humanoid systems is an added advantage

Required skills

• C++, Python, Java, Golang, PHP, Node.js, React Native, Kotlin and similar
• AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, and computer vision libraries
• Video and communication protocols, simulators such as Gazebo and Isaac Sim
• Cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite)
• Platform deployment experience with Android and ROS-based service robots and quadrupedal robots
