Lecturer – Business Communication (School of Business Management)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic lecturer to teach Business Communication within the School of Business Management. The role focuses on developing learners’ workplace communication, professional presence and digital communication capabilities, including AI‑enhanced skills. You will help shape adaptable communicators ready for technology‑enabled environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom teaching, assessment and learner support across Polytechnic Foundation Programme, Pre‑Employment Training and Continuing Education & Training.
• Design, develop and review curriculum, learning activities and assessments to align with industry practices and workplace communication needs.
• Develop learners’ competencies in business writing, presentations, digital communication, content creation, stakeholder engagement and professional branding.
• Integrate Generative AI, digital technologies and innovative pedagogies into teaching and assessment, fostering responsible AI use and human‑AI collaboration.
• Collaborate with industry partners, professional bodies and other stakeholders to co‑create authentic learning experiences and projects.
• Mentor and support the academic, professional and personal development of youth and adult learners through inclusive, learner‑centred approaches.
• Contribute to industry engagement, outreach activities, committee work and administrative responsibilities.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Communication Studies, Mass Communication, Corporate Communication, Strategic Communication, Marketing Communication, Applied Linguistics, Education or a related discipline.
• Minimum three years of relevant industry and/or teaching experience in communication, content development, training, digital communication or related fields.
• Familiarity with AI, digital technologies and emerging communication trends, with ability to apply them in professional or educational settings.
• Experience in curriculum development, teaching, facilitation, coaching or adult learning; experience in corporate training or workforce development is an advantage.
• Strong communication, facilitation, presentation and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Generative AI and digital communication technologies.
