Lecturer, Experiential Learning

About the role

SUSS, Singapore's first institute for lifelong learning, is recruiting a Lecturer in Experiential Learning for its new suite of core courses. These courses aim to help students become adaptive and resilient global citizens by appreciating complex local and global issues, understanding individuals, communities and relationships, and contributing to society through interdisciplinary approaches and experiential learning.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and develop courses
• Handle academic administration
• Conduct academic and/or applied research
• Take part in SUSS service activities, including outreach to industry and involvement in industry projects

Preference will be given to candidates who can teach using experiential education or service-learning approaches.

Required profile

• PhD from a reputable university
• Disciplinary focus in science and technology, social sciences/sociology, or interdisciplinary fields such as climate, environment or public health is an advantage
• At least five years of relevant teaching and research experience in an academic institution for senior positions
• Track record of research and teaching with an interdisciplinary outlook

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, keep up with developments in the field, think strategically and act as a role model for students
