Lecturer – Foundational Studies

About the role

The Centre for Foundational Studies is seeking a passionate Lecturer to facilitate student learning across a range of foundational subjects. You will design and deliver engaging lessons, support holistic student development, and contribute to the centre’s academic excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate student learning and develop curricula in areas such as Life Design, Critical Thinking, Communication, Computing, Social Impact, Science and more.
• Design and deliver engaging lessons and co‑curricular activities that foster holistic development.
• Create a positive, well‑managed classroom environment that drives learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with module teams to ensure seamless lesson delivery and share best practices.
• Provide pastoral care and academic guidance to support students’ educational and career pathways.
• Contribute to action‑research projects to enhance teaching and learning competencies.
• Undertake administrative duties to ensure smooth programme operations.

Required profile

• Passionate about education with a strong interest in teaching and mentoring youths.
• Self‑driven, independent, proactive and comfortable in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
• People‑oriented with excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
• Proficient in facilitating classroom discussions, mediating diverse opinions and evaluating reasoning.
• Relevant teaching experience, including curriculum development, assessment and online course design.
• Experience with educational technology tools and AI.
• Hold a qualification in a related field.
