Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Data & AI (School of Computing)

About the role

The School of Computing seeks a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to teach and develop curricula in Data & AI and related engineering subjects. The role combines classroom instruction, curriculum design, and participation in research, consultancy, and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, labs and assessments for subjects such as Python for Data Analytics, Full‑Stack Web Development, Data Engineering, Big Data, AI & Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Agile & MLOps, Graph Database & Analytics, Generative AI and Large Language Models.
• Design, review and continuously improve teaching materials and curricula to enhance student learning and employability.
• Stay current with AI/ML deployment trends, including ML Ops, serverless ML, and emerging technologies.
• Contribute to the School’s strategic projects, committees, research collaborations and consultancy engagements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in AI engineering, application development, data engineering or AI/ML Ops.
• Strong passion for education and mentoring youth and adult learners.
• Self‑driven, independent, and able to work collaboratively within a team.

Required skills

• Proficient in Python programming.
• Experience with ML lifecycle management, model versioning (e.g., DVC) and CI/CD pipelines for ML.
• Knowledge of full‑stack web development and software engineering principles.
• Familiarity with containerisation, orchestration, and serverless ML deployments on cloud platforms.
• Understanding of model security, agile methodologies, and MLOps practices.
