Legal Consultant – LNG, Trading and Shipping

About the role

Axiom is seeking an experienced Legal Consultant to support a Fortune 500 client’s LNG, trading and shipping business across Asia. The role focuses on substantive legal work, providing practical advice on contracts, trading activities and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal support for LNG supply, trading and shipping operations across Asia.
• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a broad range of LNG and energy‑related commercial agreements.
• Support LNG trading activities, advising on contractual, commercial and risk‑related matters.
• Guide LNG infrastructure and development projects, reviewing and negotiating project documentation.
• Collaborate with commercial, trading, shipping and project stakeholders to manage legal and contractual risks.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience as a commercial lawyer in LNG, commodities, energy trading, projects or infrastructure.
• Strong track record drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to a sophisticated business.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the capacity to work independently and own matters from start to finish.

Required skills

• Expertise in LNG, commodities trading, energy, projects and infrastructure, or shipping transactions.
• Proficiency in drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
