Legal Counsel – Ministry of Health (Singapore)

About the role

The Legal Counsel will join the Legal Office of Singapore's Ministry of Health, providing legal support across a wide range of public health matters. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, collaborating with policy teams to shape legislation, contracts and enforcement actions that impact the nation’s healthcare system.

Key responsibilities

• Advise, draft and review contracts, international agreements, organisational changes, disputes, statutory appeals and judicial reviews.
• Assist policy divisions, including the Communicable Diseases Agency, in formulating and vetting proposed legislation and providing legal advice on policy and operational issues.
• Support prosecutorial and enforcement activities related to offences under the Ministry’s jurisdiction.
• Conduct legal research, statutory interpretation and provide clear legal opinions to senior officials.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in Singapore with a tertiary law degree.
• 2‑4 years of relevant legal experience covering transactions, disputes, advisory and prosecutorial matters.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and judgment skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
