Maintenance Engineer (5 Days | Building Facility | Electrical & Instrumentation)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive, hands‑on Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability and safe operation of manufacturing equipment, utilities and building facilities in a chemical manufacturing plant. The role is based in Tuas and reports to the Technical Department, working Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑5:30 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute preventive maintenance for manufacturing equipment and facility utilities.
• Maintain and calibrate instruments and measuring equipment (IMTE).
• Perform hands‑on troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation systems, including PLC‑controlled, SCADA and HMI equipment.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, modifications and improvement projects.
• Supervise contractors to ensure safe and effective maintenance work.
• Prepare technical documentation, work procedures and regulatory submissions.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and coordinate procurement activities.
• Participate in EHS activities, risk assessments, FMEA and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical & Instrumentation, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field with at least 2 years relevant experience, or a diploma with at least 5 years experience.
• Basic knowledge of PLC, SCADA and HMI systems and ability to diagnose faults.
• Understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems and preventive/corrective maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with risk assessment and FMEA methodologies.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
