Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Maintenance Manager will oversee all maintenance activities in a manufacturing plant, ensuring optimal equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and safe operations. This role supports production by implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, leading maintenance teams, and guaranteeing compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise daily preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance operations.
• Develop and execute maintenance schedules to minimise production disruptions.
• Monitor equipment performance, analyse failures and implement improvement measures.
• Lead, train and mentor technicians, engineers and contractors, allocating manpower to meet priorities.
• Conduct performance evaluations and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programmes, using maintenance management systems to track work orders and asset history.
• Lead rapid response to breakdowns, perform root‑cause analysis (RCA) and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct inspections, audits and risk assessments, and enforce LOTO and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, control spare‑parts inventory and optimise costs.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, TPM and Six Sigma.
• Manage external vendors and contractors, negotiate service agreements and ensure quality and safety compliance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate performance, downtime and cost‑analysis reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and team‑development skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of safety regulations, LOTO and permit‑to‑work procedures.
• Ability to manage budgets, control costs and oversee inventory.
• Analytical mindset with experience using KPIs such as MTBF and MTTR.
• Effective communication and cross‑functional coordination abilities.
