Malay / Tamil Voice Talent - Speech Data Collection

About the role

CloudFactory is looking for native or near-native Malay and Tamil speakers in Singapore to take part in a short-term speech data collection project supporting AI and speech technologies. Contributors record short spoken audio clips based on provided scripts and conversational scenarios, such as everyday conversations, consumer banking interactions and health-related scenarios. The recordings should sound natural and conversational, and some prompts may need to be rephrased while keeping their intended meaning.

Key responsibilities

• Record short audio clips in Malay or Tamil based on provided scripts and scenarios.
• Deliver natural, conversational speech with authentic pronunciation, pacing, tone, pauses and expressions.
• Follow the project's audio quality, privacy and recording guidelines.
• Deliver recordings raw and unprocessed; no noise suppression, enhancement, compression, EQ, voice transformation, pitch shifting or AI cleanup.
• Provide a one-minute raw voice sample for shortlisted candidates.

Required profile

• Native or near-native speaker of Malay or Tamil, born and raised in Singapore or having spent most of your life there.
• Speaks Malay or Tamil naturally as it is commonly used in Singapore.
• Can make scripted content sound natural and conversational.
• Strong pronunciation and verbal communication skills, able to follow detailed instructions and stay consistent across recordings.
• Comfortable contributing voice recordings to a dataset for AI/model training and commercial use.
• Experience in voice-over, dubbing, theatre, broadcasting, podcasting, presenting or content creation is strongly preferred.

Expected scope is about 2-3 hours of final, accepted audio per speaker, made up of short clips of 5-20 seconds each. Selected contributors must give written consent for the collection and use of their recordings, which will be part of a dataset for AI/model training and commercial use with perpetual and irrevocable usage rights. Detailed technical and recording instructions are given before recording starts.
