Manager, Clinical Education (P&OD)

About the role

The Manager, Clinical Education (P&OD) manages, optimises and delivers Life Support Training, the Simulation and Clinical Training Centre (SCTC) and the Surgical Skills Lab (SSL) in WH. The role ensures these services and facilities are safe, reliable, well-governed, adequately resourced and responsive to training needs, and supports the Clinical Directors (Clinical Education), Chief (P&OD) and Assistant Director (P&OD) in workforce development and training initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Life Support Training: maintain governance, policies, standards and records aligned with national resuscitation standards; plan and deliver on-site and external programmes; manage faculty, resources and budgets
• Faculty development: partner with the Programme Director and clinical leads to maintain an adequate pool of qualified faculty, coordinate deployment and support development and recognition
• SCTC and SSL: oversee facility scheduling, booking and utilisation, and manage equipment, maintenance, inventory and vendor relationships
• Biological specimen management in the SSL: set up policies and controls for receipt, handling, storage, use and disposal of specimens in line with safety and infection prevention requirements
• Support related projects, work with the P&OD team on cross-cutting projects and perform other duties assigned by the Clinical Directors

Required profile

• Minimum degree qualification
• At least 5 years of related experience in healthcare and/or education (preferred)
• At least 2-3 years managing a team
• Good communication, supervisory and management skills, and a good command of written and spoken English
• Comfortable working in an environment handling biological specimens and in a fast-paced start-up-like setting
