Manager, Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager, Customer Engineer to lead service and warranty operations for its semiconductor and display equipment in Singapore. The role combines technical oversight, team leadership, and customer satisfaction responsibilities to ensure high‑performance system delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast financial, manpower and operational requirements for start‑ups, warranty, and service agreements.
• Manage start‑up projects, controlling time and cost while overseeing local inventories and RMA procedures.
• Maintain days‑sales‑outstanding (DSO) targets and manage system start‑up and warranty costs under reserve.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with service performance and system reliability.
• Interview, hire, train and develop customer engineers, establishing career and training plans.
• Escalate system downtimes following defined procedures to achieve guaranteed uptime.

Required profile

• Demonstrated functional knowledge of service operations and technical concepts in the semiconductor equipment domain.
• Strong leadership skills to manage a homogeneous team, set goals and drive continuous improvement.
• Problem‑solving ability to resolve technical, operational and organizational issues.
• Effective communication to influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety practices and adherence to global business conduct standards.
