Manager, Industry Communications

About the role

The Manager, Industry Communications will support IMDA’s communications strategy for its business programmes. You will craft messaging, develop communication plans and drive media engagement to raise awareness of key initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand priorities and design end‑to‑end public communications plans.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external agencies and ministries to ensure consistent messaging.
• Collect and analyse data from multiple sources to shape public narratives across all channels.
• Oversee media management activities, including briefings, pitches, interview requests and preparation of talking points and speeches.
• Build audience awareness for business policies, programmes and initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align plans and messaging with target audiences.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent background in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
• 5‑10 years of experience in journalism, public relations or government communications.
• Highly driven, energetic and able to deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong project‑management and analytical abilities with a track record of timely delivery.
• Experience pitching to tech and business reporters (advantageous but not mandatory).
• Proven ability to manage third‑party agencies, vendors or suppliers.
• Capability to translate business needs into impactful communications plans.
• Genuine curiosity about the technology and media sectors.
