Manager, Operations Management (Shift 2)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering, is seeking a Manager, Operations Management (Shift 2) to oversee production functions for its capital equipment in Singapore. The role focuses on supervising manufacturing activities, ensuring safety and quality, and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees across production functions such as assembly, inspection, test, and final test for capital equipment.
• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material requirements.
• Participate in operational meetings and support development and tracking of performance metrics.
• Ensure timely response to operational issues affecting customer satisfaction and prepare cost‑of‑quality analyses.
• Oversee safety, environmental, health and safety training and compliance for all department personnel.
• Develop personnel through training, performance management, hiring, rewards and discipline processes.
• Drive Lean, safety and quality initiatives and implement corrective actions to improve cycle time and other metrics.
• Support capacity optimization and monitor key measurement data and real‑time status.

Required profile

• Demonstrated understanding of production and operations procedures within the manufacturing domain.
• Ability to lead, coach and set priorities for a team to meet daily deadlines.
• Strong problem‑solving judgment to resolve day‑to‑day technical and operational issues.
• Experience interacting with customers, vendors or suppliers as needed.
