Manager / Senior Manager – Digital Innovation (AI & Immersive Tech)

About the role

The Centre of Excellence in Maritime Safety (CEMS) is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager to lead its Digital Innovation programme. You will oversee AI, software and immersive technology projects that support maritime safety, training and analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of AI, software and immersive (VR, navigation simulator) projects from concept to deployment.
• Translate business needs into clear project scopes, deliverables and timelines.
• Provide technical oversight on system architecture, data requirements and solution design.
• Supervise AI engineers, software developers, simulator technologists and VR developers across multiple workstreams.
• Engage industry partners to co‑develop AI‑enabled solutions and present progress to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Support funding proposals, reporting and centre‑wide strategic AI initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience delivering AI, software or digital solutions.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts such as computer vision, NLP, data pipelines and model deployment.
