Manager (Tax Recovery - Individual)

About the role

IRAS is recruiting a Tax Recovery (Individual) manager. As a tax professional, you will use your tax knowledge to help build a socially responsible taxpaying community, applying your resourcefulness, communication skills and expertise in a range of tax services including service, compliance and policy formulation.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse cases in depth to take effective enforcement action against taxpayers who do not file their returns or pay on time.
• Negotiate with taxpayers to reach agreements and influence a shift towards voluntary compliance.
• Assist taxpayers by telephone or in writing.
• Take part in projects using data analysis, technology, agile principles, behavioural insights and design to improve work processes, service delivery and voluntary compliance.
• Support managers and supervisors on technical, systems and procedural issues arising from complex situations.

Required profile

• Degree in any discipline.
• Experience in customer service.
• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to question, probe and analyse; organized and systematic in handling data.
• Resourceful and able to work independently within a team.
