Manufacturing Biotechnologist II (1-Year Contract)

About the role

Roche is hiring a Manufacturing Biotechnologist II for a 1-year contract in Central Singapore, supporting the Biochemical Manufacturing Department. The role carries overall accountability for completing manufacturing tasks on schedule while complying with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Roche's corporate principles, quality policies and standards, and the PT Lean Production System.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare small equipment, clean and sterilize vessels, prepare solutions, and monitor and operate biochemical processing equipment
• Take raw material samples, perform dispensing and environmental monitoring sampling, and keep the area tidy in line with safety, cGMP and biochemical manufacturing guidelines
• Prioritize assigned tasks, document work according to approved manufacturing formulae, and support process improvement efforts
• Use computers for process control and data entry
• Take part in staff and shift-change meetings and work closely with other shift personnel and external support groups
• Comply with all safety, health and environmental requirements, report accidents, near misses and hazards, and follow site security measures

Required profile

• Fresh graduate with a degree in Life Sciences or Engineering, or a diploma/NITEC or equivalent holder
• Diploma holders with at least 3 years of experience, or NITEC/equivalent holders with 7 years of experience
• Biologics experience is a plus; a background in microbiology, fermentation or protein purification is preferred
• Able to work weekends, off-shifts and overtime as required, and to lift loads of up to 25 kg
