Manufacturing Biotechnologist Trainee (Attach-and-Train)

About the role

Roche offers a 15-month career conversion programme (Attach-and-Train) for advanced biopharmaceutical manufacturing executives and professionals, jointly supported by Workforce Singapore and the Workforce Advancement Federation. It builds the next generation of skilled manpower for Singapore's biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. The trainee works in the Biochemical Manufacturing Department, supporting its goals and objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare small equipment, clean and sterilize vessels, prepare solutions, monitor and operate biochemical processing equipment, sample raw materials, and perform dispensing and environmental monitoring sampling
• Maintain housekeeping in line with safety, cGMP and biochemical manufacturing guidelines, and document work according to approved manufacturing formulae
• Support process improvement efforts and operate computers for process control and data entry
• Take part in staff and shift change meetings and work closely with other shift personnel and external support groups
• Report safety incidents and near misses promptly and support the safety team in investigations
• Comply with all safety, health and environmental requirements, follow site security measures, and apply Lean Production System tools for continuous improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Engineering, or equivalent qualifications such as a Diploma, NITEC or similar
• Experience in biologics is a plus
• Strong problem-solving, interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
