Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and maintain fabrication methods, operating sequences, and processes for semiconductor parts and assemblies. The role collaborates across engineering functions to launch product improvements and new products while applying DFx principles to reduce cost and improve quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain methods, operating sequences, and processes for parts, components, sub‑assemblies, and final assemblies.
• Coordinate with other engineering functions to release product improvements and new products.
• Apply Design for Excellence (DFx) principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs and improve product quality.
• Determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements.
• Develop and use test procedures, evaluate test results, and assess work methods, procedures, and policies.
• Assist in root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for issues arising during assembly or system testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1–2 years of semiconductor or related industry experience.
• General knowledge of the semiconductor industry acquired through education or experience.

Required skills

• Design for Excellence (DFx) methodology.
• Test procedure development and evaluation.
• Process development, tooling recommendations, and time‑standard determination.
