Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes for fabricating parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies. The role works closely with other engineering functions to launch product improvements and new products while focusing on cost reduction and quality enhancement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain fabrication methods, operation sequences and processes for parts and assemblies.
• Coordinate with engineering functions to release product improvements and new products, handling engineering change requests.
• Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements using DFx principles.
• Create and use test procedures, assist in defining test specifications and work with test engineering on fixtures.
• Gather operational and test data, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective and continuous‑improvement actions.
• Conduct Process Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (PFMEA) for new product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• More than 3 years of experience in the semiconductor or manufacturing industry.
• Willingness to work permanent second shift (4 pm – 1:30 am) with transport provided.
• Ability to collaborate with global stakeholders and attend meetings across time zones.
• Meticulous, resourceful and proactive attitude.
