Manufacturing Operations Manager (Night Shift)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Manufacturing Operations Manager in Singapore. The role covers production and operation functions such as assembly, inspection, test and final test of capital equipment and components, and works on a night shift from 11:30 pm to 9 am. It is a full-time position open to relocation.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees in production and operation functions and manage a team of quality inspectors and packing personnel, assigning daily tasks and mentoring them.
• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material requirements, and support the tracking of performance metrics and cycle time.
• Respond quickly to operations issues affecting customer satisfaction, act as an interface for customer and vendor requirements, and initiate corrective action.
• Oversee prevention of accidents and injuries, ensure EHS training is received and followed, and monitor compliance with safety policies.
• Develop personnel through training, career development, goal setting and coaching, and manage hiring, rewards and discipline.
• Drive Lean, Safety and Quality, identify process and quality improvements, and support production capacity optimization.
• Ensure chambers are inspected to standards and customer specifications, review inspection reports, and coordinate packing and shipment with logistics.
• Maintain ISO standards, regulatory requirements and internal quality policies, conduct audits, and prepare performance reports.

Required profile

• Formal supervisory responsibilities, with the ability to set priorities and coach employees to meet daily deadlines.
• Ability to solve day-to-day technical and operational problems and to influence the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
• Understanding of Applied Materials' global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with them.
• Physical demands: prolonged standing, walking, working in tight spaces, lifting, and potential clean-room work requiring PPE such as coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glasses, gloves, respirators and face shields.
