Manufacturing Technician - Cleanroom Equipment Assembly

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Manufacturing Technician in Singapore. The technician works hands-on in a cleanroom environment to build, repair and test multimillion-dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment, including electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum and pneumatic assemblies, subassemblies and components.

Key responsibilities

• Build, repair and test equipment using work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, parts lists and instructions
• Perform electro-mechanical assembly, troubleshooting and repairs under supervision, following learned procedures
• Audit parts availability, inspect parts for defects and troubleshoot and improve processes
• Test assemblies with test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps
• Complete job documentation (data entry) on progress, work expense and labour details
• Perform computer programming, repairs or software installations as needed

Required profile

• High school or technical diploma, technical degree, certificate or equivalent
• Basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
• Ability to follow written and verbal standard operating procedures
• Preferred: up to 1 year of semiconductor or display experience, or comparable industry or military experience
• Preferred: technical education, certifications or training; experience adhering to quality guidelines

Required skills

• Knowledge of basic hand tools
• Ability to work in a noisy environment and in tight spaces, including lifting and operating heavy machinery such as forklifts
• Cleanroom PPE such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators and face shields may be required

The position is full-time and physically demanding, with no relocation offered.
