Manufacturing Technician

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to work hands‑on in a cleanroom environment building and testing multimillion‑dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment. The role involves assembling, repairing and testing electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum and pneumatic components that enable next‑generation semiconductor chips and advanced displays.

Key responsibilities

• Build, repair and test equipment using work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams and parts lists.
• Perform electro‑mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting and repairs under moderate supervision.
• Audit incoming parts, inspect for defects and improve processes.
• Use test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps to validate assemblies.
• Complete job documentation, record labor details and perform computer programming or software installs when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• 1–2 years experience in semiconductor or display manufacturing, or comparable industry/military experience.
• Ability to follow written and verbal standard operating procedures.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical assembly.
• Troubleshooting and repair of electrical, vacuum and pneumatic systems.
• Use of test fixtures and electronic measurement equipment.
• Operation of leak detectors and vacuum pumps.
