Manufacturing Technician

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to work in a clean‑room environment building, repairing and testing high‑value display and wafer fabrication equipment. The role involves hands‑on electro‑mechanical assembly and troubleshooting of electrical, vacuum and pneumatic systems.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams and parts lists to assemble, repair and test equipment.
• Perform electro‑mechanical assembly operations, including the use of hand tools, test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps.
• Audit incoming parts for availability and defects, and document progress, labor and expenses.
• Conduct software programming, repairs or installations as required to improve processes.

Required profile

• High school diploma; 1–2 years of experience in semiconductor or display manufacturing, or comparable industry/military experience.
• Ability to follow written and verbal standard operating procedures.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and clean‑room protocols.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical assembly and troubleshooting.
• Use of electronic measurement equipment and leak detectors.
• Operation of vacuum pumps and pneumatic systems.
• Computer programming and software installation for equipment.
