Manufacturing Technician

About the role

The Manufacturing Technician works hands‑on in a cleanroom environment building, repairing and testing multimillion‑dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment. The role involves electro‑mechanical assembly, troubleshooting and ensuring parts are available and defect‑free.

Key responsibilities

• Build, repair and test electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum and pneumatic assemblies, sub‑assemblies and components using work orders, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Perform electro‑mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting and repairs, and identify and correct errors.
• Utilize test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps to test assemblies and sub‑assemblies.
• Enter progress, expense and labor data on computer terminals; may perform computer programming, repair or software installation.
• Receive parts, audit inventory and inspect parts for defects to ensure availability for build, test and repair activities.

Required profile

• NITEC/Higher NITEC or Diploma in Engineering or a Technical field.
• Open to candidates with or without prior experience.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to apply scientific methods.
• Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical assembly.
• Troubleshooting of electrical, vacuum and pneumatic systems.
• Use of electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps.
• Reading schematics, wiring diagrams and parts lists.
• Data entry on computer terminals.
