Materials Project Manager – B2 Level

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Materials Project Manager (B2) to lead engineering, materials and manufacturing planning for its Singapore operations. The role involves forecasting requirements, coordinating with suppliers and supporting product development teams to ensure timely delivery of critical components.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis and support outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Participate in Materials Core Team, managing product development deliverables with buyers, planners and production control.
• Assist in supplier price and delivery negotiations and contract management.
• Conduct supplier risk assessments, monitor performance and generate key process indicators (KPIs).
• Work with engineering to identify critical and long‑lead parts and develop supplier road‑maps.

Required profile

• Demonstrated conceptual knowledge in materials engineering and supply chain processes.
• Understanding of key business drivers and ability to meet cost objectives.
• Ability to solve straightforward problems using technical judgment and precedents.
• Effective communication of complex information to team members.
• Informal guidance to new team members without formal supervisory responsibilities.

Required skills

• Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
• Make‑versus‑buy and cost analysis capabilities.
• Supplier risk assessment and performance monitoring.
• Generation and reporting of Key Process Indicators (KPIs).
• Value analysis and Should‑Cost analysis for build‑to‑print components.
