Mechanical M&E Engineer – Project Coordination

About the role

The Mechanical M&E Engineer will lead on‑site installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems for building projects. You will work closely with supervisors, foremen and multidisciplinary contractors to ensure schedules, quality and budget targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate site installation works with in‑house supervisors and foremen.
• Attend site coordination meetings with main contractors, consultants and other trades.
• Provide hands‑on technical assistance for mechanical system installation and troubleshooting.
• Prepare material requisitions, work programmes and purchase orders for mechanical equipment.
• Analyse, manage and track project costs against the approved budget.
• Carry out testing, commissioning and combined services testing; hand over as‑built drawings and O&M documentation.
• Coordinate with electrical, process and structural contractors.
• Participate in detailed design, shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, duct/pipe sizing and equipment selection.
• Review 3D BIM models to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Liaise with suppliers for quotations, technical and commercial evaluations.
• Prepare material submittals for consultant approval and support tender preparation for new projects.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering with ACMV, fire protection or plumbing & sanitary background.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in building construction, preferably handling ACMV, fire protection or plumbing works.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong project management abilities – timelines, budgets and resources.
• Analytical and critical thinking for tender bidding and cost control.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Green Mark manager or other BCA/SCDF/PUB certifications are a plus.
