Mechatronics Engineer – Tuas

About the role

Murata Electronics Singapore is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to lead and support innovative automation solutions for its Tuas manufacturing site. The role focuses on digital transformation, AI‑driven improvements and equipment optimisation across production lines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain equipment control programs using PLC ladder logic.
• Design, code and deploy PC‑based and web‑based software applications, primarily in Python.
• Integrate, debug and troubleshoot equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Drive factory automation, digital‑transformation and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all activities comply with relevant codes, QA/QC policies, performance standards and ISO processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Control, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering.
• Minimum three years of experience in industrial automation or related fields.
• Strong analytical thinking and a proactive attitude toward learning new technologies.

Required skills

• PLC programming (ladder logic).
• Python development.
• SQL, Pandas and NumPy.
• OpenCV and computer‑vision libraries.
• Machine‑learning and deep‑learning concepts (CNN, YOLO).
• Experience with vision systems and lighting design.
