Media Engagement Manager

About the role

The Media Engagement Manager will plan and execute public and digital communication initiatives to support the Ministry of Defence and Singapore Armed Forces' objectives. The role focuses on preserving public trust in national defence, National Service, and the SAF.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement publicity plans for mainstream and social media platforms.
• Collaborate with media organisations to secure feature stories.
• Draft responses to forum letters and media queries.
• Design local and international media engagement strategies.
• Manage public communications during incidents and unplanned events.

Required profile

• Education in Communication Studies, Political Science, Social Sciences, ICT/Digital Media, or related fields.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in Mandarin, Malay or Tamil is advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Keen interest in Singapore’s media, political, defence and security developments.
• Ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail.
• Willingness to work odd hours and travel overseas at short notice.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Basic proficiency in Mandarin, Malay or Tamil (advantageous).
