Metal Engineer (R&D)

About the role

Avensys is seeking an experienced R&D Scientific Metal Engineer to lead the development of innovative metal materials and alloy technologies. The role is based in Singapore and involves translating laboratory research into industrial‑scale manufacturing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead R&D projects on metal alloys, additives and processing technologies.
• Design, execute and manage laboratory trials, pilot programmes and industrial implementation activities.
• Conduct material testing, data analysis and technical evaluations.
• Support alloy development, melting, casting, rolling, forming and related manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with external laboratories, testing facilities and technical partners.
• Prepare technical reports, project documentation and client presentations.
• Manage multiple projects from concept through scale‑up and commercialization.
• Mentor junior researchers and support laboratory operations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metal Science or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of industrial R&D experience in alloy development and metal processing.
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy, material characterization, refining, melting, casting and production scale‑up.
• Proven project‑management and technical problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
