Network Monitoring System Engineer

About the role

The Network Monitoring System Engineer will be responsible for administering, securing and maintaining key network monitoring platforms. Working closely with the Operations team, the engineer will develop tools, automate processes and integrate monitoring solutions with OSS/BSS systems to support Service Assurance and the Operation Centre.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, upgrade and harden existing monitoring systems.
• Integrate network elements into monitoring platforms and manage major system upgrades.
• Provide 24/7 standby support for system, application and software troubleshooting.
• Develop and optimise code, deploy automated scripts and software tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, assess new opportunities and manage vendor deliveries.
• Create technical documentation and deliver user training sessions.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or related field.
• 1–2 years of hands‑on Linux administration and system security experience.
• Commitment to 24/7 standby availability and high‑availability operations.
• Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving environments.

Required skills

• Linux system administration and security hardening.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, Azure, Alibaba.
• Containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Automation tools: Ansible, DevSecOps practices.
• Programming/scripting: Python, JavaScript, Shell, Git/GitHub.
• Databases and monitoring: SQL/NoSQL, Elasticsearch, Grafana, REST/YAML.
• Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols.
• Telecom service assurance, telemetry concepts.
• Optional certifications: CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA.
