News Desk Intern, CNBC International

About the role

The News Desk Intern supports the News Desk so that CNBC can deliver world-class content on global business and finance through guest interviews. The intern learns how to ask intelligent, balanced questions of high-profile stakeholders in business and finance, and gains exposure to business, markets and the fundamentals of journalism. The internship runs from January to June 2027 and is aimed at university undergraduates interested in TV news production and journalism.

Key responsibilities

• Meet and greet C-suite guests and key industry stakeholders at CNBC Studio in the SGX Centre.
• Set up guests and interact with them before their interview segments on TV shows.
• Create daily highlights and send them to key clients and affiliates.
• Learn how major global news networks react to breaking news and cover them with guests professionally.
• Learn how to pitch to news makers and market movers for interviews on CNBC TV shows.
• Help the News Desk build relationships with guests, companies, PR agencies and financial institutions in APAC.
• Support the digital workflow by clipping short video highlights from guest interviews for CNBC's digital platforms.

Required profile

• University student currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a related field such as business, economics and/or mass communication.
• Legal right to work in Singapore; only candidates eligible to work there will be considered.
• Available for a full-time internship from January to June.
• Willing to work early morning start times to match show timing and preparation.
• Fluent in English, which is essential for communicating with guests on English-language programming.

• Ability to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced, high-tension live news environment.
• Keen interest in business news, economics, financial markets and current affairs.
