NPI Sourcing & Material Manager

About the role

The NPI Sourcing & Material Manager supports new product introductions by forecasting engineering, materials and manufacturing requirements and coordinating demand signals through MRP. This role works closely with engineering, planning and production control teams to ensure timely, cost‑effective supply of critical components.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis and provide input to outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate demand signals via MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Lead the Materials Core Team, managing matrixed buyers, planners and production control.
• Negotiate supplier price, delivery terms and contracts, and monitor supplier performance.
• Execute commercialization material plans and manage material change control.
• Generate and publish key process indicators and track total landed cost targets.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in sourcing, materials planning and supplier risk assessment.
• Knowledge of best practices in supply chain and how they integrate with engineering and production.
• Ability to lead small projects and act as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of addressing complex supplier quality issues.
• Effective interpersonal communication to build consensus and explain sensitive information.
