Operations Executive - Port Call Planning

About the role

Inchcape Shipping Services is looking for an Operations Executive in Singapore to handle port call planning and execution. The role communicates with, plans for and carries out port calls so that the Principal's and the ship master's expectations are met or exceeded.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the Principal's and the ship master's requirements and expectations for each port call.
• Execute port call turnarounds in the most cost-effective and expeditious way.
• Closely monitor and update stakeholders on port call progress, and protect the Principal's best interests.
• Give concise, timely communication to authorised recipients, including routine pre-arrival, progress and post-call updates.
• Make timely, truthful statutory declarations to relevant authorities such as ICA, MPA, Customs and Excise, NEA and security/enforcement agencies.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in ship agency services, the oil/gas/offshore industry, or as an engine or deck cadet.
• GCE "O" Level with credits in English and Mathematics, and a Diploma in Maritime Studies.
• Willingness to work irregular hours and outside office hours, and physical fitness for ship boarding in anchorages, container ports, petrochemical installations and shipyards.
• No aquaphobia or acrophobia.

Required skills

• Intermediate level maritime operations knowledge and local law and regulations.
• MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.
• Port and immigration documentation.
• Written and spoken English.
