Operations Management Manager – 12‑hr Day Shift

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Operations Management Manager to lead production and operational functions for its capital equipment manufacturing in Singapore. The role is a permanent, full‑time position on a 12‑hour day shift, responsible for supervising teams across assembly, inspection, test and final test activities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees in production functions such as assembly, inspection, test and final test of capital equipment and subsystems.
• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material requirements.
• Lead operational meetings, milestone scheduling and performance metric tracking.
• Ensure timely response to operational issues affecting customer satisfaction and drive corrective actions.
• Oversee safety, health and environmental training and compliance for all department staff.
• Develop personnel through training, performance management, hiring, reward and discipline processes.
• Identify and implement process and quality improvements, driving Lean, safety and quality initiatives.

• Demonstrates understanding and application of procedures within the operations job family and basic knowledge of related functions.
• Applies knowledge of how the team interacts with other areas to improve efficiency.
• Has formal supervisory responsibilities and sets priorities to meet daily deadlines.
• Uses judgment to identify and resolve day‑to‑day technical and operational problems.
• Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the team and its contribution to the business unit.
• Uses tact and diplomacy to exchange information and handle sensitive issues.
