Operations Management Manager – 12hr Shift

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions that underpin semiconductor and advanced display technologies. The Operations Management Manager will lead a team of production staff on a 12‑hour shift, ensuring efficient manufacturing of capital equipment and systems while upholding safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees across assembly, inspection, test and final test functions for capital equipment manufacturing.
• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material requirements.
• Participate in operational meetings and track organization performance metrics.
• Drive cycle‑time improvements and other key production metrics.
• Ensure timely response to operational issues affecting customer satisfaction and manage cost‑of‑quality analyses.
• Oversee employee safety, enforce EHS training, and monitor compliance with safety policies.
• Develop personnel through training, performance management, hiring, reward and discipline processes.
• Support capacity optimization, implement Lean initiatives and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to set priorities and coach employees to meet daily deadlines.
• Strong judgment for identifying and resolving day‑to‑day technical and operational problems.
• Ability to influence quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the team and its contribution to the business unit.
• Understanding and adherence to Applied Materials’ global Standards of Business Conduct and ethical core values.
