Operations Management Manager

About the role

Applied Materials is the global leader in materials science and engineering solutions that underpin every new semiconductor chip and advanced display. The Operations Management Manager will lead production teams that build the capital equipment essential for AI and next‑generation semiconductor manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees across assembly, inspection, test and final test functions for capital equipment manufacturing.
• Set daily team priorities, develop work schedules and assign tasks.
• Organize and facilitate pre‑shift, safety and other team meetings.
• Develop and execute action plans, manage shift handoffs and conduct operations reviews.
• Track and improve organization performance metrics such as cycle time and equipment efficiency.
• Coordinate with service and customer groups to secure resources, tools and materials needed for production schedules.
• Drive Lean, Safety and Quality initiatives and take corrective actions.
• Manage employee selection, hiring, performance management, reward and discipline processes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to supervise day‑to‑day work and coach employee development.
• Strong judgment to resolve production schedule issues and prioritize daily tasks.
• Impact quality and timeliness of team results, contributing to departmental goals.
• Understanding and adherence to Applied Materials’ global Standards of Business Conduct.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces and use hand/power tools, including clean‑room PPE when required.
