Operations Management Specialist – 18‑Month Development Program

About the role

The 18‑month Operations Management Specialist program at UPS is designed to develop future leaders in transportation. Participants gain hands‑on experience across air hub, ramp, cargo business, service centers and network planning while working directly with frontline teams.

Key responsibilities

• Complete structured rotations through Air Hub and Gateway Operations, Ramp Operations, Air Cargo Business Operations, Air Service Centers, and Air Network Planning.
• Collaborate with sorting facility staff, ramp crews, and time‑critical logistics flows to understand daily operational challenges.
• Lead and deliver projects focused on cost reduction, service improvement and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, preferably Operations Management, Logistics, Aviation Management, Engineering or related fields.
• Prior experience in hub operations, airlines, logistics or fast‑paced operational environments (advantage).
• Demonstrated leadership potential with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to work non‑office hours, varying shift schedules and travel regionally as part of the training.
