Operations Management Specialist – Transportation Group Program

About the role

UPS offers an 18-month structured development program for high-potential talent in its Transportation Group. It builds operational expertise, leadership capability and strategic mindset for future management roles. The program is not a traditional office job: participants spend significant time in frontline environments such as sorting facilities, on ramp and in time-critical logistics flows, supported by project assignments and action-based learning.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through key operational areas: Air Hub and Gateway Operations, Ramp Operations, Air Cargo Business Operations, Air Service Centers and Air Network Planning
• Work alongside teams in sorting facilities, on ramp and in time-critical logistics flows
• Develop an end-to-end understanding of transportation network operations
• Own projects that drive cost, service and efficiency improvements
• Build critical thinking and decision-making skills and gain cross-functional business perspectives

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline, preferably Operations Management, Logistics, Aviation Management, Engineering or a related field
• Prior experience in hub operations, airlines, logistics or fast-paced operational environments is an advantage
• Leadership potential with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Innovative, self-motivated mindset with a drive to improve processes
• Comfortable working non-office hours, on varying shift schedules and in frontline environments
• Willing to travel regionally during training
• Strong verbal and presentation skills with English proficiency
