Operations Trainer – Assistant Manager

About the role

The Operations Training Assistant Manager leads the end‑to‑end training agenda for store operations, shaping strategy, content, delivery and measurement to boost frontline capability and customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual training strategy and calendar aligned with business priorities and People & Culture plans.
• Identify capability gaps across frontline, supervisory and store leadership roles using performance data and stakeholder input.
• Design, develop and refresh training materials for classroom, on‑the‑job, digital and social learning platforms, ensuring compliance with brand guides and franchise agreements.
• Plan and deliver core training programmes for new hires, existing team members, store trainers and supervisors, coordinating scheduling and attendance tracking.
• Coach store trainers and line managers to sustain learning application through on‑the‑job coaching and reinforcement.
• Partner with Operations, People & Culture and commercial stakeholders to support new store openings, operational changes and compliance updates.
• Measure training effectiveness through attendance, learner feedback, service indicators and business outcomes, providing insights for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Human Resources or related field (experience may substitute).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in learning and development, training strategy and programme delivery, preferably in retail or customer‑facing environments.
• Proven ability to design training content, facilitate sessions, manage roll‑outs and coach store trainers.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, compliance and customer service standards.
• Leadership and people‑management skills with a focus on coaching high‑performing teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned area and work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
