Part-Time Research Assistant (Psychology)

About the role

The Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Singapore, a 2,000-bed psychiatric hospital, is looking for a part-time Research Assistant (1 year) in its Psychology department. You will assist clinical psychologists in a multi-study research project evaluating an acute crisis intervention model.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews and prepare measures and/or interview questions
• Prepare and submit study amendments, status reports and other documents to research review committees and funding agencies, and liaise with them as study administrator
• Recruit participants, for example from the IMH Emergency Room, and obtain informed consent
• Collect data through semi-structured interviews, questionnaires and chart reviews
• Transcribe interviews and score questionnaires
• Data entry and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
• Manage the study database across multiple time points while safeguarding participant confidentiality
• Attend required training sessions
• Handle administrative tasks such as document maintenance, logistics, volunteer support, claims and reimbursements, and meeting notes

Required profile

• Degree in social sciences, psychology, public health or a related field
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a research setting
• Direct experience in qualitative analysis
• Some experience in data management and governance
• Familiarity with research ethics submission processes and protocols, such as informed consent
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, and willingness to learn
