Persistent Software Engineer – Embedded Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Persistent Software Engineer to join a multinational team in Singapore, focusing on the design, development and integration of embedded software for UX products that rely on persistent memory technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Define software architecture and concepts for managing persistent memory, including storage format, wear‑levelling, data consistency, security, rollback and robustness strategies.
• Collaborate with system architects to analyse customer requirements and propose persistent‑memory solutions.
• Develop and maintain drivers for eMMC/NAND flash, handling wear‑levelling, bad‑block management and data integrity across use cases.
• Implement memory‑bandwidth benchmarking and drive continuous optimisation.
• Support root‑cause investigations for field claims and customer issues related to persistent‑memory failures.
• Work closely with the hardware memory team on memory portfolio definitions and state‑of‑the‑art software implementations.
• Contribute to documentation, design reviews and code‑quality processes, and validate reliability with hardware, test and software teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong background in embedded systems architecture and memory technologies.
• Experience with eMMC/flash memory, file systems and low‑level driver development.
• Good understanding of microcontrollers, SoCs, boot processes and memory controllers.
• Familiarity with automotive development processes such as ASPICE is a plus.
• Ability to design solutions that meet lifetime and safety requirements.

Required skills

• C and C++ programming for embedded systems.
• Embedded systems development and debugging tools (emulators, analyzers, oscilloscopes).
• eMMC/NAND flash memory handling, wear‑levelling and bad‑block management.
• File system integration and low‑level driver development.
• Memory‑bandwidth benchmarking and optimisation.
• Understanding of microcontrollers, SoCs and memory controllers.
• Knowledge of ASPICE automotive processes (optional).
