Phlebotomist

About the role

NHG is hiring a full-time Phlebotomist to perform blood-taking procedures (venepuncture) to collect blood specimens for laboratory investigations in the inpatient setting, mainly adult and geriatric wards, at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) and the Integrated Care Hub (ICH). The role also involves supporting sectional initiatives to review and improve work processes, conducting HIV screen interviews for patients and helping the Section Leader with operational and administrative matters.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture to collect blood specimens for laboratory investigations
• Support sectional initiatives to review and improve work processes

• Support the Section Leader in operational and administrative matters

Required profile

• A keen interest in blood-taking (venepuncture)
• No experience needed, as training will be provided
• Able to work independently and as a team player
• Good communication skills
• Able to work two rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays

Working hours follow a roster pattern of 7am-4pm, 8am-5pm or 3pm-9.30pm. Locum positions for experienced phlebotomists are also available but should be applied for separately through the hospital's careers site.
