Physical Security Assessment Team Lead - Semiconductor Manufacturing

About the role

Micron Technology is looking for an experienced Physical Security Evaluator to join its Physical Security Assessments team supporting semiconductor manufacturing operations in APAC. The role leads and conducts comprehensive physical security evaluations of semiconductor critical manufacturing locations, assessing the effectiveness of physical security programs (people, processes, technology and protective measures). It involves identifying vulnerabilities, assessing risks to operations and intellectual property, writing detailed assessment reports and partnering with site leadership to implement corrective actions. Significant APAC travel is required.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate physical security controls such as perimeter protection, access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, guard force operations, visitor management and emergency response.
• Identify vulnerabilities affecting personnel safety, manufacturing continuity, intellectual property and critical assets.
• Document findings and write comprehensive assessment reports with actionable recommendations.
• Partner with manufacturing and site security teams to implement mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
• Check compliance with corporate standards, customer requirements and industry best practices.
• Review security implications of new facility designs, expansions and operational changes.
• Evaluate emerging security technologies and recommend solutions.
• Support supplier and contractor security assessments where risks exist.
• Help improve physical security policies, standards and assessment methods, and report regularly to leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Engineering, Risk Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in physical security, security assessments or security program management.
• Minimum 5 years conducting physical security reviews of industrial, critical infrastructure or manufacturing facilities.
• Prior experience in the semiconductor industry is required.
• Ability to travel up to 50% in APAC.
• Experience protecting intellectual property, sensitive technology and classified manufacturing processes, and conducting supplier, contractor and third-party security assessments.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Required skills

• Knowledge of access control, intrusion detection, CCTV and security monitoring systems.
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing environments (fabs, cleanrooms, assembly and test operations).
• Security operations centers, incident management, investigations and guard force management.
